Airport Transfer: Getting from DPS to Your Hotel

Use the Grab app. It’s the cheapest and most reliable way to get from DPS airport to your hotel.

Download Grab before you fly. When you land and have data (get your eSIM sorted first), open the app and book a ride. Grab has photo instructions showing you exactly how to find the pickup locations at the airport — follow them, as it’s not as simple as just walking outside.

Pre-booked transfer$10–20No stress, driver waits with your nameNeed to book in advance

  1. Have data ready — this is why we recommend buying a BNE eSIM before your flight. You need data to use Grab.
  2. Open the Grab app and set your destination
  3. Follow the in-app photo instructions to find the pickup location — the airport has specific Grab/ride-hailing pickup zones
  4. Meet your driver — Grab shows their car details and number plate
  5. Pay through the app — no cash needed, no haggling, fair price

If you don’t want to deal with finding the Grab pickup spot after a long flight, pre-book a transfer:

  • KKday and Klook both offer airport transfer services with drivers who wait in arrivals with your name on a sign
  • Prices are typically $10–20 depending on destination
  • Book online before your trip

This costs more than Grab but removes all the stress of navigating the airport pickup situation when you’re tired and jet-lagged.

  • Don’t exchange money at the airport — the rates are terrible. Use an ATM instead (more on this in Common Scams)
  • Have your hotel address ready in Indonesian or on Google Maps — some drivers don’t speak much English
  • Traffic from the airport can be heavy, especially to Canggu (1–1.5 hours in peak traffic). Seminyak and Kuta are much closer (20–30 minutes)
  • Toll road — there’s a toll road from the airport. Grab includes tolls in the fare. If taking an airport taxi, confirm whether the quoted price includes tolls.
