Getting Between Islands

Fast Boats
Section titled “Fast Boats”Fast boats are the standard way to reach Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and the Gili Islands.
Tips:
- Book online through KKday or Klook for the best prices and guaranteed seats
- Book at least a day ahead during peak season
- Choose morning departures — seas are usually calmer
- If you get seasick, take medication before boarding. The strait between Bali and Nusa Penida can be rough.
- Sit near the back for a smoother ride
Domestic Flights
Section titled “Domestic Flights”For longer distances, domestic flights are cheap and fast:
- Lion Air, Citilink, Batik Air — Indonesia’s main budget carriers
- Book direct on their apps or websites for the best prices
- Baggage is usually extra on budget carriers — check before booking
- Arrive early — DPS domestic terminal can have long queues
